Section 20-1700 STANDARDS: ABOVE GROUND STORAGE & USE AREAS -HAZARDOUS
SUBSTANCES & POLLUTING MATERIALS

Section 20-1701 Approval of a site plan regarding the above ground storage and use areas for hazardous substances and polluting materials must meet these standards:

Section 20-1702 Secondary containment, for above ground areas where hazardous and polluting materials are stored or used, shall be provided. Secondary containment shall be sufficient to store the substance for the maximum anticipated period of time necessary for the recovery of any released substance.

Section 20-1703 Outdoor storage of hazardous substances and polluting materials shall be prohibited except in product-tight containers which are protected from weather, leakage. accidental damage and vandalism.

Section 20-1704 Secondary containment structures such as out buildings, storage rooms, sheds and pole barns, shall not have floor drains which outlet to soils, groundwater, or nearby drains or rivers.
Section 20-1705 Areas and facilities for loading and unloading of hazardous substances and polluting materials, as well as areas where such materials are handled and used, shall be designed and constructed to prevent discharge or runoff to floor drains, rivers, lakes,
wetlands, groundwater and soils.
