Section 2-2000 "S"

Section 2-2001 Scenic View Area. An area of land visible to the public traveling on a roadway which provides a view of forests, farmland, hills, or bodies of water.

Section 2-2002 Screening. A method of shielding a view of one site from another neighboring site. including but not limited to, fences, walls, hedges, berms, and other types of vegetation.

Section 2-2003 Seating Area. The geographic area necessary to service the public in restaurants and taverns. For the purpose of this Ordinance, one patron shall be permitted for each sixteen (16) square feet of floor area.

Section 2-2004 Setback. The required minimum horizontal distance between any part of the structure and the related front, side or rear property line. (Any part of the structure may include deck, eaves, porch, steps, bay windows, etc.)

Section 2-2005 Shoreline. That portion of a lot or parcel of land that abuts an inland lake, river or stream.

Section 2-2006 Shoreline Protection Strip. A natural vegetative area extending along the shoreline of lakes, rivers, streams or watercourses, containing native trees, shrubs and other vegetation and natural materials. The purpose of the managed vegetative strip is to stabilize the shoreline, prevent erosion, absorb nutrients in water run-off from adjacent lands, provide shade to maintain cool water temperatures and screen the view of adjacent man-made structures from the water.

Section 2-2007 Sign. Any structure that identifies, describes, illustrates, represents or directs attention to a product, place, activity, person, institution or business which is attached to a building, another structure or is free standing.

Section 2-2008 Site Condominium A method for subdividing property pursuant to the Condominium Act of the State of Michigan.

Section 2-2009 Site Plan. The documents and drawings normally consisting of a drawing ofthe subject lot or parcel of land together with other information required by this Ordinance.

Section 2-2010 Steep Slope. Parcels of land which have a slope greater than 15%. Section 2-2011 Structure. Anything constructed or erected, excluding fences.
