ARTICLE 1 - PURPOSE AND LIMITATIONSSection 1-100 TITLE: Forest Home Township Zoning Ordinance.

 

Section 1-200 PURPOSE - The fundamental purpose of this Ordinance is to promote the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Township.

 

Section 1-300 GOALS - The goals of this Ordinance are:

 

Section 1-301 To preserve and protect our township's natural resources,

 

Section 1-302 To preserve and protect the rural character of our township;

 

Section 1-303 To encourage land use consistent with the rural character of our township; Section 1-304 To provide a level of community services that is appropriate to a rural area; Section 1-305 To reduce hazards to life and property,

 

Section 1-306 To conserve the use of public funds for public improvement and services. Section 1-400 LIMITATIONS OF ORDINANCE

 

Section 1-401 Existing Uses of Lands, Buildings and Structures. At the discretion of the property owner, the lawful use of any dwelling, building or structure, and of any land or premises as existing and lawful on the date of adoption of this Ordinance may be continued even though such use may not be in conformity with the provisions of this Ordinance.

 

Section 1-402 Conflicting Laws, Ordinances, Regulations and Restrictions. These provisions shall be held to be minimum requirements for promoting the public health, safety, and general welfare. Whenever the requirements of this Ordinance are at variance with the requirements of other lawfully adopted rules, regulations, or ordinances, the requirements imposing the higher standards shall govern.
