FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
September 3, 2009
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner
Guests: E. McDuffie
Pledge of Allegiance.
Fire Board Chairman Ed McDuffie brought the Board up to date on issues being considered by the Fire Board.
Motion by Steiner to approve the Agenda. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Motion by Crandall to approve the minutes of the 08/06/09 Meeting. Supported by Kent and carried.
Motion by Crandall to approve expenditures in the amount of $25,284.82. Supported by Mahan and carried.
Planning Commission Update: P. Comfort has resigned from the Board. Article 15 (Shoreline Protection) has been tabled indefinitely.
Parks & Recreation Committee Update: Discussion regarding possible future park layouts.
Supervisor Smith informed the Board that he has heard from the Michigan DNR Trust Fund regarding the Grant to purchase the Sevald property. Due to a decrease in property values since the property was originally appraised, plus the addition of taxes accrued since the property was first added to the CFR Program, an additional $80K+ would be required to complete the purchase of this property. The Township will request an extension on the grant in an effort to see if these extra costs can be alleviated.
