FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
February 5, 2009
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner
Guests: E. McDuffie, D. Bean
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Steiner to approve the Agenda. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Sheriff Bean addressed the Board and outlined many of the changes and improvements he has instituted as well as future improvements planned.
Bellaire Fire Department Board Chairman, E. McDuffie brought the Board up to date on the current issues being worked on by the department.
The Board discussed preliminary plans for an addition to the township office.
Motion by Smith to approve the paving of Steiner Rd., East of Torch Lake Dr. to Clam Lake Rd. and the overlay of East torch Lake Dr. from Co. Rd. 620 to Clam River Bridge. Supported by Steiner and carried with the following voting:
Aye: Crandall, Kent, Steiner, Mahan, Smith
Motion by Kent to approve the Minutes of the 01/08/09 Meeting. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Motion by Mahan to approve expenditures in the amount of $15,213.72. Supported by Kent and carried.
Treasurer’s Report was given.
Planning Commission: Work continues on the Land Use Plan and Mapping.
Parks & Recreation Committee: The Committee is working on plans for this year as well as preparing a report of last year’s accomplishments that they will be bringing to the Board in the near future. They also asked the Board to consider action regarding the ‘Bubblers’ on Clam Lake adjacent to Township Lake Access sites.
