FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
September 4, 2008
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner
Guests: C. Hebden, J. Tarrant, H. Robinson, A. Knott
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Steiner to approve the Agenda. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Supervisor Smith introduced Carrie Hebden who was recently appointed to the Forest Home Township Parks & Recreation Committee. Carrie replaces D. Schuler who recently resigned.
Andy Knott, from the Grand Traverse Bay Watershed Center addressed the Board regarding a survey conducted by them which graded the buffer along the shoreline of Torch Lake.
Motion by Crandall to approve the Minutes of the 08/07/08 Meeting. Supported by Kent and carried.
Motion by Steiner to approve the Minutes of the 08/19/08 Special Meeting. Supported by Kent and carried.
Motion by Crandall to approve expenditures in the amount of $19,787.43. Supported by Steiner and carried.
Treasurer’s Report was given.
Planning Commission: The Planning Commission is making some minor changes to the sensitive areas section of the Zoning Ordinance, and they are working on a Future Land Use Map for inclusion in the Master Plan.
Parks & Recreation Committee: Former Committee member Dave Schuler expressed his appreciation to the Township for the Plaque that was presented to him recognizing his years of service on the Parks & Recreation Committee. The Committee is looking at various styles of signs to be used at Arrowhead Park.
Supervisor Smith informed the Board that he had received a complaint from a resident regarding harassment they were subjected to while using the Lynn Rd. Public Access by an adjacent property owner. Supervisor Smith will pursue this matter and report back to the Board next month.
