FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
February 7, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.

Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner

Guests: H. Robinson, B. Dewey, T. Sheneman, B. Isenbarger, L. Bailey, T. Frey

Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Steiner to approve the Agenda with the following changes: Add: Park & Recreation Report following the Village of Bellaire Budget Request, and Delete: the Planning Commission Update and Recreation Committee Update. Supported by Crandall and carried.

Public Comment: Opposition to Shore Drive becoming a public road and also, if Shore Drive does become a public road who will be responsible for maintenance.

Bellaire Village President, B. Dewey addressed the Board requesting financial assistance for the Village in three areas – 1/3 of the cost for a Life Guard at Richardi Park; replacement of a beam on the Warner Bridge; and maintenance of Village Parks. The Board requested further information regarding the beam replacement and also park maintenance costs.

Motion by Mahan to approve paying for one-third of the cost of a Life Guard for Richardi Park for the 2008 summer (pending availability of someone with the proper qualifications) at a projected cost of $1,157.00. Supported by Kent and carried.

Parks & Recreation Committee Chairman Bev Isenbarger presented the 2008 proposed projects and budget.

Motion by Mahan to approve the paving of Steiner Rd. from Cottage Dr. to Clam Lake Rd. and Dunson Rd. (from Clam Lake Rd. 500’ to top of hill). Supported by Steiner and carried.

Motion by Smith to reappoint D. Dewey to the Planning Commission (3 year term). Supported by Crandall and carried.

Motion by Smith to reappoint Jim Ferguson to the ZBA (3 year term). Supported by Steiner and carried.

Motion by Kent to approve Resolution #6 of 07/08 (Amendment to Resolution #4 of 07/08 – Accepting Grant for the purchase of the Sevald Property). Supported by Mahan and carried with the following voting:
Aye: Smith, Mahan, Kent, Crandall and Steiner – Nay: None

Motion by Crandall to approve Resolution #7 of 07/08 (Poverty Guidelines Resolution). Supported by Kent and carried with the following voting: Aye: Kent, Crandall, Smith, Mahan, and Steiner. Nay: None.

Motion by Crandall to approve the Minutes of the 01/03/08 Meeting. Supported by Crandall and carried.

Motion by Kent to approve the Minutes of the 01/17/08 joint meeting between Forest Home Township, Kearney Township and the Bellaire Fire Board. Supported by Crandall and carried.

Motion by Kent to approve expenditures (check #5747 thru 5794) in the amount of $22,458.92. Supported by Steiner and carried.

Treasurer’s Report was given.
