FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
June 7, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Steiner
Absent: D. Crandall
Guests: S. Sentieri, B. Isenbarger
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Kent to approve the Agenda with the following corrections – Crandall to Steiner under Planning Commission Report; Deletion of Treasurer’s Report; and addition of Parks & Recreation Report below the item titled Resolution- No Wake Sign in Clam River. Supported by Steiner and carried.
S. Sentieri showed the Board plans for the DeWitt Marine upgrade.
A request from the Village of Bellaire to borrow from the Perpetual Care Fund associated with the Cemetery was discussed. The Board prefers that the Village not borrow from the Cemetery Fund to finance roof repairs.
Motion by Kent to approve Resolution #2 of 07/08 (No-Wake Zone on Clam River Resolution). Supported by Mahan and carried with the following voting:
Aye: Smith, Kent, Steiner, Mahan
Nay: None
Absent: Crandall
B. Isenbarger, Chairman of the Forest Home Township Parks & Recreation Committee addressed the Board regarding the Grant that was approved for the Carry-In Boat Launch adjacent to the Township Park.
Motion by Smith that the Board inform the DNR that the Township is willing to accept their proposal of Paying for the Carry-In Boat Launch project and then requesting reimbursement from the approved Grant. Supported by Steiner and carried.
Motion by Smith to set a Rental Fee Schedule for the Township Hall at: Full Day - $100.00; Half Day - $50.00. Supported by Steiner and carried.
The Board discussed a request from a resident to consider a fall drop off point for trash/garbage for part-time residents who are leaving for the winter. The item was tabled for the time being.
Motion by Kent to approve payment of $1,000.00 (Forest Home Township Share) to hire a Life Guard for Richardi Park for the 2007 summer season... Supported by Mahan and carried.
Motion by Kent to approve the Minutes of the 05/03/07 Meeting. Supported by Steiner and carried.
Motion by Mahan to approve expenditures (check # 5424 thru 5467) in the amount of $23,933.47. Supported by Kent and carried.
Trustee Steiner informed the Board that the Planning Commission is now working on the final chapter of the Master Plan update.
