Mahan Date of Meeting: 03/01/2007 Major Topics: Minutes: FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP Regular Meeting March 1, 2007 Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner Guests: L. See, E. McDuffie Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Mahan to approve the Agenda. Supported by Kent and carried. 7:02 P.M. - Supervisor Smith adjourned the Regular Meeting and opened the Budget Hearing. Comments regarding the proposed 2007/2008 Budget were solicited. No comments were offered. 7:04 P.M. – Supervisor Smith closed the Budget Hearing and reopened the Regular Meeting. Forest Home Township Fire Board Member, Ed McDuffie gave the Board a recap of Fire Department Issues over the past year. The Board expressed their appreciation to Mr. McDuffie for his many years Of service with the Fire Department. Motion by Kent to pursue the acquisition of the DNR property (located on Intermediate Lake – Gorham Beach property) being offered by the State of Michigan, with the understanding that costs will not exceed 10% of appraised value plus appraisal fee and survey fee if needed. Supported by Steiner and carried. Motion by Crandall to approve the Minutes of the 02/01/07 Meeting. Supported by Kent and carried. Motion by Kent to approve expenditures (check # 5300 thru 5331) in the amount of $18,042.77. Supported by Mahan and carried. Treasurer’s Report shows a balance of $861,230.23. Motion by Crandall to approve Resolution # 8 of 06/07 (Budget Resolution for 2007/2008). Supported by Steiner and carried with the following voting: Aye: T. Smith, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner, S. Mahan Nay: None Motion by Kent to approve Resolution #9 of 06/07 (Salary Resolution for 2007/2008). Supported by Smith and carried with the following voting: Aye: T. Smith, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner, S. Mahan Nay: None Trustee Steiner informed the Board that the Planning Commission is steadily making progress on the Master Plan revisions. Trustee Crandall presented the Board with the Parks & Recreation Committee’ Annual Report for 2006 and their plans for 2007. The Board discussed the request from the Village for financial help in the repair of a portion of W. Cayuga that was paved in 2006. A review of income and expenditures within the village, with expenditures exceeding income, and the fact that the township has yet to contribute for both the parks and the cemetery this year, as agreed upon earlier, the township will be unable to help with these repairs.
