FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
September 7, 2006

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.

Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner

Guests: H. Clayton, C. Stellin

Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Crandall to approve the Agenda. Supported by Steiner and carried.

Mr. H. Clayton spoke to the Board regarding his concern over open burning of garbage within the township. He also presented the board with information explaining what toxins are released into the atmosphere when certain products are burned. Supervisor Smith will investigate and get back to the
Board and Mr. Clayton at the next meeting in October.

The Board discussed the K-16 Mandate Proposal and the SOS (Stop Overspending) Proposal – both of which are slated to be on the November 2006 ballot.

Motion by Mahan to approve Resolution #5 of 06/07 (Opposition to K-16 Mandate Proposal). Supported by Steiner and carried with the following voting:

Aye: Smith, Crandall, Kent, Steiner Mahan
Nay: None
Absent: None

Motion by Mahan to approve Resolution #6 of 06/07 (Opposition to SOS (Stop Overspending) Proposal). Supported by Crandall and carried with the following voting:

Aye: Smith, Crandall, Kent, Steiner, Mahan
Nay: None
Absent: None

Motion by Crandall to approve the Minutes of the 08/03/06 Meeting. Supported by Steiner and carried.

Motion by Kent to approve the Minutes of the 08/21/06 Special Meeting. Supported by Steiner and carried.

Motion by Crandall to approve expenditures (check # 5062 thru 5109) in the amount of $24,806.92. Supported by Kent and carried.

Treasurer’s Report shows a balance of $827,433.10.

Trustee Steiner informed the Board that the Planning Commission is currently working with the Yacht Club on their development plans.

Trustee Crandall informed the Board that the Access Sites (mowing) were well maintained this year, however, the South Shore site does need some tree trimming work. Also, the Recreation Committee is still waiting for the DNR’s approval for the Antrim County Park plans (Grant).
