FOREST HOME TOWNSHIP
Regular Meeting
June 1, 2006
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
Officers Present: T. Smith, S. Mahan, T. Kent, D. Crandall, D. Steiner
Guests: A. Luurtsema
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Steiner to approve the Agenda. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Motion by Smith to approve the acquisition of a tax foreclosed property (Tax ID. 05 07 011 037 00)
located within Forest Home Township if the state declines to purchase. Supported by Kent and carried.
The Board discussed changes to the Agreement between Forest Home Township and the Village of Bellaire regarding Lakeview Cemetery. Additional information will be requested and the Agreement will be on the July Agenda.
The Board discussed the proposals submitted by several area architects for an addition to and remodeling of the Township Hall.
Motion by Crandall to approve the proposal submitted by Clark, Walter, Sirrine for the design and oversight of the hall building/remodeling project. Supported by Kent and carried.
Motion by Kent to approve the Minutes of the 05/04/06 Meeting. Supported by Crandall and carried.
Motion by Kent to approve expenditures (check # 4891 thru 4943) in the amount of $24,892.44. Supported by Steiner and carried.
Treasurer’s report shows a balance of $881,612.07.
The next Planning Commission meeting won’t be held until 6/7/06, so there was no update available.
Trustee Crandall brought the Board up to date on the issue currently being addressed by the Parks and Recreation Committee. They will be clearing some brush on Lessard Lane. The Board is still negotiating with the DEQ regarding the property adjacent to the township park.
