PART THREE - FUTURE LAND USE PLAN

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The development of this plan was guided by a Vision, Mission and Goals Statements. These guiding principles are supplemented by a series of objectives that indicate specifically how we intend to achieve each goal. Action statements are the steps we must take to accomplish our objectives. The action statements fall into four  areas, regulation, research, coordination, and education. It will be necessary to examine these statements annually to ensure that they are being followed as well as to determine if changes, additions or deletions are necessary.

OUR VISION of how we want Forest Home Township to look in the future is as follows:

"We picture Forest Home Township as a hilly peninsula surrounded by clean, clear lakes and rivers. From our roadways we see vistas of farms & fields, meadows and forests, lakes and valleys. People's homes and businesses built in harmony with nature."

 

OUR MISSION or Purpose is:

"To preserve, protect and enhance the land and water resources of the township. We want to encourage desirable development options and to ensure a rural way of life for the people who live and visit here."

 

Our GOALS are

 

Goal #1    "Preserve and protect our township's natural resources."

 

 

Goal #2    "Preserve and protect the rural character of our township."

 

Goal #3    "Encourage land use consistent with the rural character of our township."

 

Goal #4     "Provide a level of community services that is appropriate to a rural area."
